There are two kinds of Clockworkmode (CWM) recoveries that seems to be compatible on galaxy y.

This CWM's is required when flashing on boot files that you need to install to update system files or install new ROMS for your android phone.



to use.. just select the CWM that is required on the file your installing

either on of these have different settings

1. installs update.zip to root phone
2. installs/flash customer zips from sd card to install to phone
3. wipes/formats/create partition, dalvick_cache or battery stats.

to use just :
boot into recovery (volume up+menu button+powerbutton)
choose update from sd card
 (volume keys to scroll and menu button to select)
choose the CWM zip required
